Halo Infinite includes extensive areas of backtracking

Halo Infinite is not an open world

In a recent interview, Halo Infinite’s assistant creative director Paul Crocker stated that the game is not an open world, but will offer expansive areas. Halo fans can also expect to come back through these worlds a little and perhaps tease different perspectives of the planets. The worlds of Halo Infinite will apparently have many areas to open up as the story unfolds and new things to discover off the beaten path. Halo Infinite will be released later this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC and will be added to the extensive Game Pass range.

“It̵

7;s taking place in a huge world that is open and spacious,” said Paul Crocker. “We have a storyline that pulls you through the story and effectively unlocks certain areas. But as you continue, you have the option to retrace and explore to your heart’s content. There is a lot to find out in the world. “It will be interesting to see what 343 Industries has been hiding for Halo fans, but our main interest is how big those areas will be in the campaign.

Talking about optional explorations, Jerry Hook, Design Director, said, “[Master] Boss, as he explores the ring, he’ll find more gear. He will always find ways to improve this equipment. And it’s not just about power, it’s about options for the player. We want to make sure that players can make the decisions to be as successful as they want to play the game. “After watching the campaign demo during the last Xbox game showcase, it’s no surprise that Master Chief will have a massive arsenal in the latest installment of the legendary franchise.
