The days when you ordered a hamburger with salad, tomato and perhaps mayo, ketchup or mustard are long gone. 19659009] In the last ten years, cracker joints have sprung up all over Naples, so-called "designer burgers" with exotic offerings. Do you want a pesto burger or one with avocado slices and fried egg?

Brooks Burgers

It might not sound appetizing, but try the pesto and goat cheese burger ($ 10.99) at Brooks Gourmet Burgers and Dogs in Naples. It is one of the best selling burgers of the restaurant and for good reason.

Above all, the pesto brings out the taste of burgers and goat cheese, a kind of taste explosion in a good way at the first bite.

(And just thinking aloud, but how many combinations did Brooks Burgers make? "Cooks try before we combine the pesto with the goat cheese? Well, we're glad they did it and you'll be too." [19659009] – Dave Osborn

BurgerFi double bacon cheeseburger. (Photo: Shelby Reynolds / Naples Daily News) [19659024] BurgerFi does a lot of things well, including the basics.

A double bacon cheeseburger just keeps it simple – two bold and meaty pies, the best crumble away, melted cheddar cheese and slices of salty, thick-cut bacon. Sure, you can add other ingredients from BurgerFi's menu, such as grilled onions or onion rings or jalapeños.

But who needs all those unnecessary frog-eating things when just bacon and cheese are enough? [19659009] – Shelby Reynolds

Five Guys Little Hamburger

Enjoy Your Designer Burger

For me, the Little Hamburger ($ 4.99) is my burger in paradise. And as Jimmy Buffett sings, I also like mine with lettuce and tomato and Heinz 57. The bigger version is a bit much, and the junior option is really a lot of burger (especially if you have a page from FG's order delicious Idaho fries).

And the smaller version is not messy, easy to eat without the burger slipping on my foil wrap and mayo and ketchup on my pants.

Every damn victim is worth it.

LowBrow Pizza & Beer

You'll find this burger on the menu at the Porker BBQ Food Truck and at LowBrow Pizza & Beer in East Naples.

But it does not matter where you're from, it's only important that you eat all thing.

In both places you'll smother it in a piece of smoked pimento and cheese topped with coleslaw and slow-roasted beef breasts. It is tender, smooth and crisp-fresh with salad and onion slivers. And it's a shame if a bite of this burger is wasted. Shame on you.

Artisan Eatery

A juicy, meaty burger is a staple of any American barbecue. And while I love my red meat, I love it when the culinary world puts a new twist on a classic.

Yes, we've seen tofu, veggie and black bean burgers that are on non-meat or on-a-diet eaters. But none of these options ever tastes like the real thing. Because, well, nobody is.

Until now. Have you heard of Impossible Burger?

Many restaurants in southwest Florida have begun to serve the dish, but my favorite is Artisan Eatery in South Fort Myers. It's a hike on I-75, but worth it. I say that again, I love my meat, but when I first bit off that burger, it made me perplexed. It actually tasted like a beef burger. I loved it.

What does it consist of?

A sustainable, 100 percent herbal beef substitute that goes with everything – salad, onion, tomato and a secret sauce sandwiched between a vegan brioche-style roll ($ 13). This meat eater said, "Yum".

If you want to eat your meat, the local restaurant also has an artisan burger ($ 14) containing American Wagyu beef, tomato compote, apple wood bacon, arugula, caramelized onion, and Gruyere cheese on a brioche bun.] And if you want pages, you have to order them separately. Nothing like parmesan truffles or sweet potato fries to complement something old and new. Address: 8951 Daniels Pkwy, Fort Myers

Choosing a favorite burger in Naples is no easy task, as so many restaurants in the area have a good barbecue.

Adding a delicious to the local burger lists, however, is Dorona, a newcomer more known for his steaks and seafood. Located in the heart of Naples on US 41 and the Golden Gate Parkway, the Dorona Italian Steakhouse offers a lunchtime special called Chef Jason Goddard's BLT – a Beef Burger with Salad, Tomato, Nueske Bacon and Matured Grafton Village White Cheddar on a brioche bun

The smoky char and juiciness of the burger paired with fresh ingredients make it a standout product. This burger is one of four "Lunch at the Bar" specials with a glass of wine for $ 12.95 a day from 11:30 to 14:30.
