A hardened Minnesota Democrat faces backlash and allegations of homophobia after repeating gratuitous accusations by MSNBC and liberal activists that US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is somehow being blackmailed to support President Trump.
U. MP Ilhan Omar, a new legislator and close ally of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., was convicted on Tuesday after claiming Graham had been "compromised". Omar responded to a video in which he spoke of a Trump critic to one of the Senate's biggest supporters.
"You have reached him, he is compromised!"
The baseless comment came on the same day MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle came under fire when she pointed out that Graham was being blackmailed by Trump for "something rather extreme".
Just like Omar, Ruhle did not cite any evidence to support her claim. "It could be that Donald Trump or somebody knows something extreme about Lindsey Graham," Ruhle said before quickly finishing the segment. "We'll keep it there."
Harmeet K. Dhillon, a National Commissioner of the Republican National Committee, suggested Omar's commentary on bigotry: "Stunning bigotry, homophobia from a member of Congress. It's not funny and puzzling why Dems gets away with outdated clichés and stupid conspiracy theories like these. "
" Is this an indication of the well-known and harmful homophobic rumor circulating the Internet? I could expect that from a troll, but you're a Congressman, "tweeted Jerry Dunleavy.
" Here's an elected representative who promulgated the homophobic conspiracy theory, with no evidence that Lindsay Graham is a gay, blackmailed Shill , Abandoned Writer Tiana Lowe.
