Perhaps your first introduction to Geralt was in "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," the popular action RPG released by CD Projekt Red in 2015. In the light of the game's track record, Project Red said in 2016 that it sold nearly 10 million copies worldwide – many users are probably curious about the series' earlier games. Well, if you're one of those users, visit GOG and request your free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.
It's obviously an older game, and not very expensive to start – usually sell it for $ 10, and sometimes cheaper if you can catch it on sale. Whatever it is, it is still the best deal. If nothing else, request a copy and save it for a rainy day. GOG will also give you a barrel of Gwent cards for The Witcher Card Game, which will appear in The Witcher 3 and is now a standalone card game.
The improved version of The Witcher does not look as good as The Witcher 3 either, and you may not like the gameplay too much. Underneath, however, there is a captivating storyline.
"The Witcher is not just a fantasy role-playing game, but also a dark fantasy world with a unique medieval yet modern look Characters and tough decisions that are really important, this game will hold you to your monitor for days," it says in the game description.
The improved version appeared a little over a year after the original. It includes better-looking graphics with over 200 new animations, additional NPC models and enhanced dialogue. It also contains a number of bugfixes and some new adventures. In short, the improved version is the version to play.
