High red flood concentrations still seen in Pinellas, Manatee, northern Sarasota counties



According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (Florida 1965, 2009), high levels of red turf continued to affect the Pinellas, Manatee, and Northern Sarasota districts.

The latest report shows that Karenia Brevis, the organism that caused the flood, the three counties compared with last week.

High concentrations were also seen in Bay County in the north and southern Brevard to northern St. Lucie counties on the east coast.

Reports of fish kills were obtained for Pinellas, Manatees, Sarasota, and Collier Counties.

Respiratory irritation has been reported in recent years in the counties of Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota.
