Huawei has come back to the Indian market after years with its latest flagship smartphone P20 Pro and a midrange smartphone P20 Lite. The price of the P20 Pro is 64,999 rupees and the price of the P20 Lite is 19,999 rupees.
The company usually relies on its sub-brand Honor to mark its existence in the country. While Honor phones are more focused on the affordable and affordable segment, Huawei is known for making the high-end flagship phones, but notorious for not bringing them to India.
There are currently few Android flagship phones in India. The most notable are either Galaxy S9 Plus or Google Pixel 2 XL. At this point, launching the P20 Pro may be a good step, as the smartphone has received a positive response so far. Although Huawei can not make big sales at a price of Rs 64,999, but can establish itself in the Indian market.
What is there for Rs 64,999 in the P20 Pro?
The P20 Pro is one of the most interesting mobile phones to hit the market in 2018. There is a 40MP primary sensor, a 20MP second monochrome module and a 8MP camera for 3x lossless zoom. From what we've seen so far, the P20 Pro is on par with what Pixel 2 has to offer in terms of photo quality.
On the front there is a 24-MP sensor with LED flash and face recognition can work in the dark.
The P20 Pro features a 6.1-inch P-OLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2240 × 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 18.7: 9.
The P20 Pro Designed to catch the eye, especially the Twilight version with its shiny back wall that shifts colors based on the reflection to add a gradient effect. Unfortunately, only the black and blue color variants are coming to India right now. The phone is not only IP67 certified, but also dust and water resistant.
It has a Kirin 970 chipset that has a neural processing unit that powers the camera with AI support in the capture modes. It can judge the scene to select the best setting based on the lighting conditions. There are 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory, but unfortunately there is no microSD card slot in this phone.
There is also a 4000mAh battery with the company's 5V * 4.5A Super Charge technology, which, according to Huawei, can provide 22 hours of FHD video playback. It offers LDAC and AptX HD for high definition wireless audio quality.
What is the P20 Lite about?
As mentioned earlier, the P20 Lite targets the middle segment. It has a Kirin 659 chipset with 4GB of RAM and two 16MP + 2MP cameras on the back and a 3000mAh battery.
It has a 5.84-inch LTPS IPS display with FHD + resolution (2280 × 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19: 9 with a pixel density of 432ppi. It runs EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Both phones have a notch. It's not as distinguishable as the one on other "notched phones" we've seen in recent months, but it's still there.
The phones will be on sale from May 3 and will be available exclusively at Amazon India.
