Huawei reportedly works on a smartphone with a notch-like hole in the display. According to the Korean media house ETNews the alleged Huawei device will have a 6.39-inch LCD display. The report shows that the Chinese OEM is expected to release this strangely designed smartphone in the fourth quarter of this year.
ETNews has shared an "illustrative model" to explain the concept. From what you can see, the display has a cutout for the camera, but it is smaller and "surrounded by screen" from all sides. However, instead of placing the front camera sensor on the notch, it is placed in a hole with the speakers and sensors over a tiny bezel. While the hole seems to be a "unique way" to push more display and increase the device's screen-to-body ratio, it seems to be a weird concept.

ETNews has not provided further details regarding the specifications of the alleged Huawei device. However, the possible launch of the device in Q4 this year is in line with Huawei's roadmap, which became known late last year. The leaked roadmap suggested that the company could release Huawei Mate Pro and Huawei Mate Lite in the fourth quarter of this year. Reports quote that if Huawei actually issues this device with a notch-like hole display, it is likely to appear on a "premium device".
The Chinese smartphone brands, Oppo and Vivo are one step ahead of bringing unique phones, the Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex. Both devices have a motorized camera system, which is displayed when starting the camera app. Oppo's latest flagship, the Find X, arrived in India this month for 59,990 rupees. During Vivo's new flagship smartphone, the Vivo Nex debuted one week later at a price of Rs 44,990.
