We could all wait for the eventual launch of the NASA Space Telescope James Webb, stuck in an endless series of delays thanks to the idiots of Northrop Grumman, but the reliable Hubble still provides some fantastic views of the skies. The latest snapshot of the telescope is a real hoax, and you will feel as if you barely exist.

NASA explains the photo (high resolution version here)):
Astronomers using the ultraviolet view of NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have one of the largest Panoramic views of the fires and fury of the star-born in the distant universe, the field includes some 15,000 galaxies, of which approximately 12,000 stars form Hubble's ultraviolet view opens a new window to the evolving universe and traces the birth of stars in the last 11 billion years back to the busiest constellation The time of the cosmos, which took place about 3 billion years after the big bang.
15,000 galaxies. That's incredible.
To give you an idea of the size, keep in mind that our solar system and all the planets, moons, and random loose debris are held in it by a single star. Astronomers estimate that the Milky Way, our home galaxy, contains up to 400 billion stars. Multiply that by 15,000, and you have an idea of how many stars and potential planets and moons we see here – give or take a few trillions of stars, because not all galaxies are the same.
What is happening out there? Is it just a mass of endless, dead worlds that are either in freezing cold, extreme heat or somewhere in between? Is there life out there? Is it intelligent and if so, does it want to hit us? These are questions that have plagued humanity for a long time, but it's images like Hubble's that really amaze you.
