Let's open today with what I sent Duana last night – "For Your Joy" as I dubbed the message. Because I got sick on Sunday with a cold that I probably passed on to her when she started feeling it yesterday. However, there are a few people who love Duana. Julia Roberts, always. But one more person none of us expected at the Golden Globes until last year: Hugh Grant.
Hugh participated in the Hollywood Reporter TV Drama Actors Roundtable this year (Sarah will unpack that later in detail) and … well … you can probably imagine what happened when the man, who is chronically embarrassed, is asked is going to talk about yourself. As I said, he's a joy:
Hugh Grant is campaigning for an Emmy. Hugh Grant, who carries all of this (slightly lower) self-hatred, joins the Emmy Thirst! I really hope this will eliminate Duana's traffic jam. By the way, Hugh is fighting for his appearance in A Very English Scandal . At first he did not want to take on the role. Because of his "pure snobbery" on television. As he explains it:
"I thought, 'Television? I do not make TV." And then I read them and they were brilliant And I realize that now everyone is watching TV Power ̵
This is one of his best known roles. And Hugh's statement out here that one of the great achievements of his career may not be all that satisfying, because television is better today than the cinema. Will he be happy if he actually wins?
The vote on the Emmy nomination begins on Monday. The nominations will be announced on July 16th.
