Patch arrives on March 12th.
Recently, an anthem error has been discovered by players that causes basic guns to do more damage than higher-level weapons. The developer BioWare has said he is working on a solution to the problem.
The bug was originally discovered by Reddit user YeetLordSupreme, who ran tests to find that his standard defense rifle was more successful at killing enemies than the Ralley Blaze (Level 45) rifle.
The Redditor reported that although higher damage levels were incurred for the higher-level weapon, fewer missiles were required to use the same target when the base weapon was used.
Later, a BioWare Community Manager commented that one thread confirmed that this was a bug related to the standard workloads associated with a higher gear and that the team was working on a fix. Anthem Ben Irving's lead producer also confirmed via his Twitter that the Defender fix should be part of the upcoming March 12 patch.
Defender-Fix should also be part of the 12th patch.

This is not the first patch for Anthem. The last update was released last week. An attempt was made to fix fan-requested changes to the loot system.
At Anthem it certainly was not a smooth process. Some PlayStation 4 players had to shut down completely when shutting down the game. EA also seems to ban players from exploiting glitches and other seemingly harmless exploits.
