SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A doctor at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio said a young man died after attending a Covid 19 party, ABC subsidiary KSAT said.
“One of the heartbreaking things he said to his nurse was, you know, I think I made a mistake. And this young man went to a Covid party, ”said Dr. Jane Appleby, chief medical officer at Methodist Hospital.
Appleby said the man who died was 30 years old.
“He didn’t really believe. He thought the disease was a joke. He thought he was young and invincible and would not be affected by the disease, ”said Dr. Appleby.
Appleby recently said she had heard of Covid 19 parties.
“Someone is diagnosed with the disease and they will have a party to invite their friends to see if they can defeat the disease,”
She said some young patients don’t know how sick they really are.
“People will come in initially and don’t look too bad. They don’t really look sick, but if you check their oxygen levels and lab tests, they’re really sick than they appear on the surface, ”said Appleby.
Appleby said if you don’t feel well, have a high fever, cough, and severe muscle pain, you should get help.
“My plea for our community and especially for all of our young people in the community is to take it seriously. Wear your mask, ”said Appleby.
