An American airline flight to Baltimore returned to Phoenix after two flight attendants felt ill, officials said.

The flight attendants on American Airlines Flight 1100 experienced nausea and dizziness and complained about a smell in the plane, according to Captain Larry Subervi

The plane landed safely at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport shortly after 9.30 am, Subervi said.

Initial reports indicate that eight people complained about symptoms.

Subervi said the plane was now brought to a gate.

No further information was immediately available.
