Innovative Or Classic – What Fat Burner Should You Use?

Fat burners are popular among those who are looking to lose some weight. But, the supplement industry evolves quickly and new supplements are coming out every day with new ingredients promising to be the best.

With all these products flooding the market, it can be hard to choose one that works. It’s especially hard when there are products that have been on the market for years that contain classic ingredients that users swear by.

So, how do you find the right product for you? Let’s break down some of the newest innovative ingredients and some of the proven classics.

Innovative ingredients

These Ingredients aren’t found in a lot of the fat burners but they are found in newer products that produce excellent results for their users. Let̵

7;s take a look at why these 3 newer ingredients are good for fat loss.

Fucoxanthin is extracted from seaweed. It can build up in your body’s fat cells. Once saturation occurs, it can help boost metabolic rate and improve the rate of fat loss.

This Ingredient isn’t found in many fat burners, only because it can take around 10-15 weeks to take effect fully. However, it has shown promise in research.

One study looked at the effects of fucoxanthin in obese subjects and found that it boosted metabolic rate significantly and helped speed up weight loss when compared to placebo. The results were noted after 16 weeks at 2.4 mg of the active ingredient fucoxanthin daily.

Forskolin has been around for a while and was a hot Ingredient for people looking to burn fat. However, it has fallen out of favor due to some of its hunger-inducing properties and because the dosage required is rarely found in fat burners.

However, this doesn’t make this compound ineffective. When dosed correctly, it has been shown to boost fat loss and increase testosterone levels. Keeping your testosterone high during a diet is vital since the hormone is directly correlated with better body composition (more muscle, less fat).

A study analyzing the effectiveness of Forskolin in overweight men shows an increase in fat loss, muscle gain, and testosterone levels after use when compared to placebo. The dose was  25mg of the active Ingredient a day, which is lower than 50-75mg a day, which seems to be the most efficient dosage.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that can lower Cortisol levels. Since high levels of Cortisol can increase the rate of fat gain and cortisol raises from stress, which includes dieting, it’s essential to keep it low when looking to maximize fat loss.

One study used 300mg of full-spectrum extract a day to treat individuals with high mental stress. The results were a significant drop in Cortisol levels, which would lend itself nicely to weight loss efforts, although this study wasn’t for that purpose.

Classic ingredients

These ingredients have been around for years and have stood the test of time. They are all proven in research to boost fat loss efforts, so they are a great place for beginners to start.

Caffeine boosts metabolic rate and fat oxidation during exercise and at rest. It’s simply the most effective compound for fat loss.

Its ability to boost fat oxidation is, when paired with any strength or endurance training, as shown in this study, where individuals were given caffeine before cycling and saw more fat oxidation compared to placebo. These types of results have been replicated a multitude of times and show a trend of more fat loss when caffeine is consumed.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract contains two compounds that are useful for fat loss. One is caffeine, which was previously discussed. The other is EGCG a naturally occurring compound that boosts fat loss.

Green tea extract is only found effective when a user isn’t currently using caffeine regularly. It works better when it is introduced after time off from all caffeine sources.

This meta-analysis shows that simply drinking one cup of green tea can oxidize a little over 5g of fat. While this doesn’t sound like much, a cup of green tea contains much less EGCG than a supplement with a standardized extract.

Capsaicin is the compound found in peppers that makes them spicy. The spicier the pepper, the more capsaicin it contains. Luckily, you don’t need to singe your tastebuds all day to lose fat.

Capsaicin is proven just as effective when used in powder form, contains in capsules.

It boosts thermogenic activity in your body, including fat cells. This helps to burn more calories throughout the day, improving efforts of a calorie deficit diet.

This compound has shown promise in an animal study to be a potent anti-obesity agent, not allowing triglycerides to be converted to body fat cells. This coupled with its thermogenic effect makes it a great compound to ass to any fat loss stack.

The verdict

So there are promising ingredients that aren’t commonly found in fat burners and there are those that have been present for years. Which should you go with?

The best answer is to combine them to get the bear of both worlds. The innovative ingredients boost fat loss through different pathways than the classics, so a stack of all the compounds could be highly effective!
