Apple will share its second-quarter earnings – that's January to March 2018 – on May 1, but hard times for theare already predicted.
In late 2017, the iPhone should be "super-cycle", with Apple not only enjoying the dramatically revamped iPhone X but also bumper sales of its latestand (October to December), with iPhone sales down slightly. Well, reports indicate that this quarter could be worse for the iPhone X.
Add that to the fact that this week with talks about this year's new iPhones, including the rumorsand . So, if you're looking for a clue to the future for the iPhone, here are the stories you need to know.
Much of the iPhone X paranoia is due to reports from Apple suppliers. Manufacturers like Samsung, TSMC, AMS and SK Hynix – all made up of different parts for the iPhone X – have reported a slow demand for the exact component they deliver to the iPhone X. Samsung reportedthe chip maker TSMC pointed to " " and the 3D sensor manufacturer AMS gave its own negative outlook.
Since all of these companies have one thing in common, analysts predict that the low demand for these parts suggests a low overall demand for the iPhone X. A theory analyst reports that the high price of the iPhone X is contributing to lukewarm customer interest in the broader consumer market now that the hardcore fans have already bought the X in its early days.
Another premium feature rumor: three cameras on the back of a future iPhone. Current top-of-the-line iPhones like the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus have a dual rear camera setup that allows advanced camera features like low-light sensing and portrait mode. But the rumor is that Apple could add another camera for even more photography skills.
The newcomes with three rear cameras, and also . Who will say that in the near future we will not see other mobile phone manufacturers doing the same?
It may sound like a strange rumor, but one analyst claims that Apple could release a new iPhone with a pen. The analyst predicts that the so-called "iPen" could be compatible with Apple's 2018 Premium iPhone (rumored to be the iPhone X Plus).
Now Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was famed for his outlook antistylus – the groundbreaking touchscreens on the iPhone and iPad. But Apple has since created a pen for its Pencil Line Pencil Line, a $ 99 drawing and sketching accessory. Whether the compatibility would be easy for the existing pencil or a new, smaller pen on deck would be unclear. But it would create a step-up feature on premium iPhones – another way to differentiate it from a cheaper model (see below). And it would provide Apple with its counterpart to its chief competitor Samsung, whosepaved the way for the use of a stylus in a modern phone.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forecasts three new iPhones in the fall of 2018, with one of the models, a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, representing the budget option. According to the report, this iPhone could start as low as $ 550 and increase by $ 100 to $ 200 depending on memory or dual-SIM compatibility. However, a new $ 550 iPhone would be about half the price of an iPhone-X, offering a new option for people who distract from the iPhone X for their price.
Would Apple really release a $ 550 iPhone? We have our doubts. But if that were the case,to make it cheaper to use a Face ID feature.
The iPhone X should be the higher quality and more exciting iPhone compared to the iPhone 8, but it looks as if the tables have turned according to a survey. Consumer research group CIRP conducted a survey of 500 US iPhone buyers, finding that 23 percent of subscribers bought the iPhone 8, 21 percent bought the iPhone 8 Plus and 16 opted for the iPhone X.
. 1 and 31 March, but CIRP conducted a similar study for the previous quarter and found that demand for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has increased, while the percentage of people buying the iPhone X has fallen.
As a rule, Apple does not break iPhone sales by model. But CEOthat the iPhone X was the top seller every week since it shipped in November, but this poll draws a different picture. Maybe the data from CIRP is incomplete – or things have changed since Cook made that statement.
The– Apple's last resort for a small, inexpensive phone – is set to receive an update soon. An upgrade for the iPhone SE 2 should be wireless. Apple's iPhones in the fall of 2017 were the first to charge wirelessly, but Apple could extend the technology to non-premium iPhones by bringing them into the SE.
The original iPhone SE was released in March 2016, and a lot has happened in the iPhone world ever since. We hope the iPhone SE 2 will get some solid upgrades compared to its predecessor, but still remain affordable.
