The 38 degrees in the sun, because at the stop of the shadow, there is no, after 30 minutes they are also for young and healthy people unbearable. In Via Nomentana, however, four lines of Atac would travel in the direction of Porta Pia and the historic center. But of buses are very few to be seen under the heat of the end of June. And the situation is almost identical in all quadrants of the capital . If we get away in Piazza Venezia with a wait of ten minutes, the times will be longer if we move away from the center. According to commuter associations, "they have practically doubled in the past five years, especially outside the historic center."
Atac, the mocking of Israeli buses, promised and stopped in the garage
Rome, raid in the Atac depot and maintenance at stake: two more buses on fire
 THE DAMAGE AND BEFFA
And on the ultra-peripheral lines that have routes outside the Great Ring Road, you can even rest for an hour in the rain or in direct sunlight before the shape of a public transport loom on the horizon. Sometimes even in vain, with the damage that turns into a joke: in the last days the lines 046 (Anagnina), 064 (Ostia), 075 (Ponte Mammolo), 319 (Tiburtino). Those waiting at the stops had to go home or find another way to get around. But every day has its "surprise": when the buses run short, the races jump. And the Romans stay on foot. Also because the summer timetable began on 10 June and the connections were further reduced.
The fault of an old and increasingly rundown fleet: 12 years on average – compared to 8.6 years on average Milan, about 5 years in Berlin, 6 years in London and 7 years in Paris – while the reinforcement Has trouble getting there. And the circulating vehicles are getting smaller from year to year: In total, the Atac has more than 1,937 buses, to which 164 trams and 30 trolleybuses are added in public transport. When, in 2012, an average of around 1,600 came out of the deposits each year, the number fell three years later before the fall to 1,500: Today, 1,300 surface vehicles are used daily for service. In addition, nearly one in three does not do the job of the day: in the "usual" mishaps due to the advanced age and poor maintenance, air conditioners that do not work make up the lion's share during that period. Every day, two hundred buses interrupt the race due to problems with air conditioners, which are indispensable in these temperatures. Essentially, nearly 500 vehicles drive less than seven years ago. And so in the capital 15-year-old vehicles on the road, the disturbances are commonplace and employ the workshop staff for many hours with sometimes inadequate spare parts. And the service bulletins take a perfect picture of the situation: In 2016, land transport – ie buses, trolleybuses and trams – covered 89.3 million kilometers per year. In 2018, the same funds will have 84.9 million of them ground
The main road to improve the lives of those who rely on public transport would be the renewal of the fleet. But from 2016 to date, the only new buses that have actually entered service are the 150 ordered by former General Manager Marco Rettighieri, nominated in 2016 by former Extraordinary Commissioner Francesco Paolo Tronca and a few months after the arrival of Virginia Raggi on Campidoglio drove off. In July last year, another 227 buses were put into service, but production is too late, and over fifty of these new vehicles are in a warehouse in Bologna. And the capital continues to rely on those who have 5-600,000 kilometers on their shoulders.
