Listeria risk: batches of grated cheese are removed

The Ministry of Health has ordered the withdrawal of some quantities of grated cheeses Per Te di Latteria Soresina from the market because of the risk of contamination by Listeria .

some packages weighing 100 g of the grated cheese mixture sold under the mark "Per Te" with the lot number 00 9114 and the expiry date or best before date fixed on 23 July 2019 is attached to the attachment of Latteria Soresina made in Via dei Mille 13/17 in Soresina in the province of Cremona.

According to the Ministry, in the specified lots Listeria monocytogenes, a dangerous bacterium that can contaminate cheese, raw meat and vegetables. The organism can cause listeriosis, an infection whose symptoms are high fever, muscle aches, nausea and vomiting.

The bacterium was detected on some samples. As a precautionary measure, however, the Ministry has provided for the withdrawal of the lots. The persons who purchased the product are requested not to consume and to return it to the point of sale where it was collected to receive a refund.
