(WXYZ) – The first Mustang Bullitt of 2018 rolled off the line this week, just months after the Special Edition sports car emerged at the North American International Auto Show in 2018
The Bullitt will have a 5.0 – liter V8 engine that packs 475 hp and 420 lb-ft. Celebrated in 1968, the movie car was greeted 50 years later with a dark highland green exterior with chrome accents, a 12-inch fully digital LCD instrument cluster, and black leather-trimmed seats
"Like Steve McQueen, this new Bullitt is effortlessly cool," said Darrell Behmer, Mustang chief designer. "As a designer, it's my favorite Mustang – with no streaks, spoilers and badges ̵
"When you do a Bullitt, there are certain things that need to be there "said Carl Widmann, chief engineer of Mustang. "It has to have the right attitude, it has to be somehow unique to a Mustang GT, and more than anything it has to be a bad ass."
The car is priced at $ 46,595 plus a $ 900 target and delivery fee, and will be delivered to customers later this summer.
