A few moments ago, J. Cole released his latest single, "Middle Child." Produced by T-Minus of Toronto (Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ludacris, Lil Wayne), the album marks the first song of the Dreamville leader of 2019. He released his fifth solo studio album, KOD, less than a year. Cole has also spent some time blessing the work of other artists. He offered bars to "Off Deez", Jay Rock's "OSOM" and 21 "Savages".

Many speculated that the song would be a jab for a certain peer after Cole had given the text that eventually became the beginning of the song: " Ni ** counted me, I count my bullet / me load my clips / I write down names, make a list / I check them twice and I'll beat them. A dissolver does not appear as it is. Instead, "Middle Child" refers to Cole's self-proclaimed place in the game. He sits between the O.G.'s like the early mentor JAY-Z and is a wise elder of artists such as 21 Savage and Kodak Black.

While talking to critics, the superstar does not name them. Instead, the song also includes Drake, which Cole describes with reveries. Cole wants everyone who hears the song to know that you're not making guns or money "real" at this age. Instead, he vows to shed light on those he believes in.
