The Jaguars unveiled their new uniforms on Thursday, though one aspect of them will be familiar to those with a long memory.
The team goes back to the all-black helmets they used to use in their history, including when the current executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin was the head coach of the team. Coughlin referred to this story as he discussed the return of the old-fashioned look.
"A traditional, classic, distinctive national football league uniform that could be related," Coughlin said in a statement. "We have three players who should be in the Hall of Fame, Tony Boselli should be in the Hall of Fame, Fred Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame, and Jimmy Smith should be in the Hall of Fame The important thing to think about this uniform is the connection. The players of the Jacksonville Jaguars 2018 will wear a uniform, if they see that these three people are inducted into the Hall of Fame, they can refer directly to it distinctive, traditional, classic uniform of the Jacksonville Jaguars. "
The team also displayed five new uniform combinations. They have white, blue-green and black jerseys and trousers in the same color with options to wear one color or mix the black pants with one of the other jerseys.
