Jamal Crawford does not make such a subtle pitch on Twitter for Lakers squad – ProBasketballTalk

The Lakers have made LeBron James their point guard this season, the shooter who holds the ball in his hands.

That only worked with limited success at the season opening against the Clippers. LeBron tried most of the night to force the ball to Anthony Davis (resulting in five turnovers). The Clippers adapted to defend LeBron / Davis actions as the game continued – they changed hands, but the big man stayed behind and dared LeBron to shoot at the defender or blow past him, which he did but did not do well. When Dwight Howard or JaVale McGee lay on the ground, the Lakers had no distance, so the Clippers clogged the paint. In the end, LeBron and Davis shot 1

5 to 40 at night, of which 1 to 6 in the fourth quarter.

Laker coach Frank Vogel was stuck because he had no other good playmaking option (Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma are both injured.)

Free agent Jamal Crawford has an idea and has voiced it on Twitter ,

Crawford is one of the Best Veteran Free Agents on the Market …

And no, that will not happen.

The Lakers already have 14 guaranteed contracts and the only one not guaranteed is Howard (teams can only carry 15 players). If the Lakers renounced Howard, they would have to replace him with another center. The Lakers could eat the contract of Troy Daniels or Jared Dudley to create a roster for a free agent, but they are not nearly as far from taking such a move. Even if they were, Crawford may not be the type, he does more for himself than for others.

Crawford could help the right team, the man can still get bucket from the bank. He scored an average of 7.9 points per game last season and shone for the exhausted suns late last year. There are drawbacks – Crawford is 39, has slowed down in recent years and his defense is not good – but he can help in the right role.

Just not the Lakers.

Good try.
