James Murdoch to step down from News Corp. back and quotes “disagreements” about editorial content

The Mughal sent a letter of resignation on Friday afternoon.

Former CEO of 21st Century Fox, James Murdoch, is on the board of News Corp., the parent company of Wall Street Journal.

In a letter of resignation filed on Friday afternoon, Murdoch wrote: “My resignation is due to disagreements about certain editorial content published by the company̵

7;s news agencies, as well as certain other strategic decisions.”

James Murdoch has been a member of the Board of Directors of News Corp. since 2013.

News Corp. is one of two media companies controlled by James’ father Rupert Murdoch and the Murdoch family. The other is Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, and the Fox Broadcast Network, which was founded after 21st Century Fox sold its entertainment resources to The Walt Disney Company.

Murdoch resigned as Fox CEO after the sale, his brother Lachlan Murdoch became CEO and father Rupert became co-chair. News Corp., which the Wall Street JournalDow jones New York Post, News UK and newspaper and TV assets in Australia, is managed by CEO Robert Thomson.

After leaving the Fox group, Murdoch founded his own company, Lupa Systems, which invested in technology companies and other companies. Lupa Systems has acquired shares in Vice Media, the technology startup Betalab, and is involved in the MCH Group, the parent company of Art Basel. Lupa Systems and Joe Marcheses Attention Capital also acquired a majority stake in Tribeca Enterprises, the parent organization of the Tribeca Film Festival, last year.
