COSTA MESA, California – Cornerback of Los Angeles Chargers Jason Verrett was diagnosed with an Achilles tendon fracture on Friday.
Verrett was injured on Friday morning during a condition test. The team said Verrett will receive more tests on his Achilles on Saturday, but is expected to miss the season.
Verrett is possible out again. Nonetheless, the Chargers have developed depth and talent to mitigate the loss. But they can not afford any more injuries
The 27-year-old Verrett has been busy with the frustration of a left-hand ACL injury that he suffered during a week 3 in 201
Verrett worked in the offseason without a brace and was fully operational for the first time in nearly two years, hoping to return to the Pro Bowl form in 2018.
Including the 2018 season, Verrett will manage 55 of the possible 80 games in five seasons with the Chargers. He dropped out of the TCU in the first round in 2014 and played in the Pro Bowl after the 2015 season.
Trevor Williams, the third-year professional, played at Verrett's top last season and will probably do the same in 2018.
Verrett is his rookie contract last year, after the Chargers his Five-year option had picked up. He should make $ 8,526 million in 2018.
