Like her brother's name, the name of Ivy Jane is inspired by a character in the story. Her middle name, Jane, refers to Lady Jane Gray.
"[W] With her middle name, Jane, she was named after Lady Jane Gray, a young lady who was Queen of England for a short time in the 1500s, and she was a very inspiring figure for us," she explained Ben.

Ivy's Jane's birth did not go to plan
But she was not quite ready for Ivy Jane's sudden arrival. Jessa went to work 10 days before her expected date of birth, which meant she had to throw her entire birth plan out the window.
"Our birthing plan throughout this pregnancy was that we give birth in a birth suite with a midwife in the hospital," said the 26-year-old. "The morning my water broke, however, was the morning my midwife had left the city for a week." , While Ivy Jane arrived safe and sound after a short spell, there was a scary moment when Jessa was hospitalized for uncontrolled bleeding. Luckily mother and child are fine now.
"We are so thankful to God for this precious gift," the Seewalds told US Weekly. "She is already so loved. Her big brothers love her!
