They say that if you want to play, you have to pay.
This week, a Supreme Court judge in North Carolina ordered a Texas man to pay $ 8.8 million to the mowed husband of a North Carolina woman with whom Texas Mann had had an affair.
The award represented $ 2.2 million in compensatory damages and three times in punitive damages, reported Herald Sun of Durham.
In a April 2017 civil complaint, Keith King of Durham accused Francisco Huizar III of San Antonio of criminal entertainment, estrangement of affection, willful infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and attack and battery, the newspaper reported
In court, Danielle King – who is fifteen years younger than her husband – said that she haunted the relationship with Huizar in 2015 and that her marriage to Keith King was unfortunate from the beginning, according to the Sun.
The Kings got married in 2010 and have a 5-year-old daughter, according to court records.
North Carolina is one of the few states where betrayed spouses can sue Affair partners.
Lawyer Joanne Foil said the affair and an alleged attack by Huizar cost King's Society, BMX stunt shows, revenue, and an employee when his wife worked for the company.
Huizar's lawyer, Cheri Patrick, says the marriage is the marriage Kings was damaged before Huizar met the woman on a BMX show. Patrick says King is controlling and manipulative.
Huizar wants to appeal.
