Jony Ive's industrial design team at Apple loses another veteran after breaking news on three key members of the group last week.
As reported by Dezeen, Apple's Miklu Silvanto will leave the industrial design team after eight years Jony Ive heads the Backyard team, which is part of the Airbnb design studio Samara.
Silvanto joins Apple's industrial design department and heads Backyard's industry and interaction design team – a company Samara founded last year to find new ways to design, build and share homes that are better for new life forms are suitable.
Silvanto commented on the new role and excitement over Airbnb's ambitious new initiative.
"Samara has a great ambition that's very hard to carry on but it's just the kind of crazy games that these types of companies should adopt," he said. "The nature of the work and the creative approach make me optimistic for the future."

The news of Silvanto's departure came just days after a WSJ Report notes that three key members of Apple's industrial design team are leaving the company with nearly 50 years of combined experience.
