Jordin Sparks Feels Great Just Three Days After the Birth of Her First Child
The 28-year-old "No Air" singer and her husband, Dana Isaiah, greeted a boy named Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr. (DJ short), on May 2nd. However, Sparks was back at work on Saturday when he participated in the Show Show Dogs at TCL Chinese 6 Theaters in Los Angeles
Kevin Frazier from ET met the new mom on the blue carpet where she raved about her "really, really cute" son and how is she after pregnancy.
"I'm really good, I'm sore, but good, he's here," Sparks said, looking stunning in a dark blue floral pattern from Saloni's mini dress. "It's just fun to stare at him, his name is DJ, named after dad, and the moment was incredible, to finally have him in my arms and stare at him, he's really here, he did it, we did. " He is just so perfect. "
" He is really, really cute. He's really quiet, but he has a few lungs, "she joked." Maybe he's a singer. "
Little DJ was born at Natural Birth Center & Women's Wellness in Los Angeles and weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces. He measured 21.5 inches long, Sparks said to ET.
"We have built a birth center," she explained. "We stayed awhile, we checked his weight and then [we were like] & # 39; we go home and sleep." So we went on within four or five hours. "
Jordan also explained that her husband and wife were the only ones at birth. "My mother was here [in Los Angeles] … with my aunt and uncle who just waited for us to get home, my Nana drove from Phoenix and then drove back because we had nobody in the birthing center, it was just me, Dana and my wife, "she said.
Sparks may have just been born three days ago, but she said she felt ready to attend her movie premiere.
"I actually expected to be immobile, I had expected all of this and when I woke up the next day, I thought," Oh, I can get out of bed. I'm fine, "she said," I mean, I want to be careful. I do not want to end up in the hospital, but at the same time, I feel really good. "
" I knew about the premiere a few months ago, but I completely removed, "she explained," then they were like, & # 39; Hey, the premiere is on Saturday. How are you feeling? & # 39; and I was like, "Oh, yes. I can actually go to that, & # 39; "I added," I'm already excited to come back to him. I was only 40 minutes away. "
Sparks He continued to tell how her baby has already changed her life.
" It's different. Strangely enough, he has made me sing better, "she reveals," I was able to make notes that I did not think I could. I did not expect at all. [But] Love is different than anything I have [ever felt]. I do not even know how to explain it. I can not. It is unreal and I know that I have much more inspiration. I was inspired by Dana last year and now we have our family and I am inspired by it.
So she is thinking about yet another bundle of joy?
"No, no. I am not ready. No, "she laughed." I would love to grow [up with siblings] because we had siblings. But ask me in three years. "
While there may be more babies for Sparks and Isaiah in the future, a reality show is definitely in the works
" It's really exciting. I had a number of ways to do a reality show. People have been asking for over the years and I was just like, "No, no, it's not the right time, & # 39;" She said. "And I think now, with everything and how my life changed when I met Dana, I fell in love and it changed everything completely, and now with DJ it's ok."
The American Idol
hopes that the new show will help people better understand their family dynamics.
"You [will] only get to see Jordin, drop the Sparks and you'll see Jordin, and you'll see Dana, and you'll see us both together and how we treat each other," she said. "I'm so excited that people see it, it was a bit exhausting, I do not always see the cameras in my face all the time, but I think it will really show a good side of us." "For us both of us are pretty young, so [it will] we show how we work through things and how we really are in love with each other – and it's not just this emotionally crazy thing," she added. While the fans wait for the reality show, Sparks Show Dogs does an action film in which she pronounces a dog in a dog show.
"I actually always wanted to be voice-over making a part of show [ Dogs ]I said," Yes! Just tell me where to go and where to go, "she said," I love acting and being a character in a movie, but it's really nice to go to a studio in a sweatpants and just go To voice and do the work. I hope I can do more voiceover work this way. The movie is a lot of fun.
Show Dogs will be released on May 18
