Jose Bautista agrees with Minor League Deal with Toronto Braves, will play 3B

Jose Bautista has joined the Atlanta Braves, who want to put the veteran bat on the third base.

The Braves announced Wednesday that they agreed with Bautista on a minor league deal. The six-time All-Star has reported the organization's extensive spring training complex.

Bautista, 37, had not been signed after ten years in Toronto, where he was one of the most successful and feared baseball thugs. 19659002] In the last eight years, Bautista was primarily a field player, appearing since the start of the 2012 season in only twelve games on the third base.

But the Braves, who have a 9-7 start this season, will give Bautista a chance to play the position. He played extensively in third place in his career, as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates and in his first four years at the Blue Jays.

Ryan Flaherty was Atlanta's primary third base this season and has made a hot start, batting .354 in his first 14 games.

Bautista just hit .203 with 23 home runs and 65 RBIs last season. He has 331 Homer and 927 RBIs in parts of 14 seasons with Toronto, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Tampa Bay and Baltimore.
