HOUSTON – John Hicks has done it again.
This time it came in a much bigger situation.  Hicks beat him at his second home game against childhood friend Justin Verlander. With a line-drive rocket at the start of the ninth innings on Wednesday evening Hicks scored in four attempts the second victory of the Tigers against their former right-handers.

At his fourth start against Bei den Tigers, Verlander was almost invulnerable except for these two home runs These were the only hits he allowed.
First, Ronny Rodriguez hit the road in fifth to end his early perfect game offer – he had retired the first 12 batters in a row.  Then, in the ninth – two innings after the left Tyler Alexander Robinson allowed Chirinos a game-winning solo homer – Hicks jumped over a Verlander field and sent it into the Crawford boxes in the right field at Minute Maid Park.

In the eighth round, Rodriguez made a clever play and threw Jose Altuve onto third base after a putout, while Altuve tried to move up to third place on first base, but Rodriguez & # 39; s strong Throw led to a brace at the inning end.

Verlander threw eight innings and allowed only two hits. He knocked out eleven batters and did not go with any of them.
But like last season in Houston, when he allowed four homers at the first start against his former team, Verlander lost the game.
