When the Yankees became aware of Smith's story last month, they switched to a keyboard version of "God Bless America

. The Yankees have been playing the song since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, at the behest of the late owner George Steinbrenner.
In 2009, the Yankees slashed "God Bless America" with singer Ronan Tynan, who had made numerous appearances at the stadium sing after allegedly making anti-Semitic comments.
