Joel Embiid, Chris Bosh and Malcolm Brogdon headlined Basketball Without Borders Africa 2019 in Senegal | NBA.com India



The 17th Annual Basketball Without Borders Africa Campaign will be held in Senegal from Sunday, July 28 to Wednesday, July 31. The camp will be held at the NBA Academy Africa in Saly with NIKE as its official partner.

The BWB campers are coached by a list of former and current NBA players: Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76er, Cameroon, BWB Africa 2011), two-time NBA champ Chris Bosh (USA), 2017 NBA rookie of the year Malcolm Brogdon (Indiana Pacers, USA), two-time NBA all-star Luol Deng (most recently with the Minnesota Timberwolves, South Sudan), Ed Davis (Utah Jazz, USA), Gorgui Dieng (Timberwolves, Senegal, BWB Africa 2009), Luc Mbah a Moute (last with the LA Clippers, Cameroon, BWB Africa 2003), Tacko Fall (Boston Celtics, Senegal), Makhtar Ndiaye (former NBA player (Senegal), Boniface Ndong (former NBA player (Senegal)) and NBA Global Ambas Sador Dikembe Mutombo (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

A whole host of NBA head coaches and assistant coaches will also join players in Africa, with Toronto Raptors assistant coach Patrick Mutombo and President Masai Ujiri joining the entire event.

The C amper are guided through various activities, exercises and seminars, and at the end of the camp, a boy and a girl are appointed BWB Africa Camp MVP.

The NBA and FIBA ​​have conducted 59 BWB camps in 38 cities in 30 countries on six continents. More than 290 current and former NBA and WNBA players have joined more than 240 NBA team members from all 30 NBA teams, with 68 former BWB campers being drafted into the NBA or contracted as free agents.
