I've been struggling with my weight most of my life. It started when I was a kid. I had a rough education and was often alone. That gave me the freedom to eat what I wanted. Sweets, fries, soda, you say it – I ate when I was bored, stressed out, anxious or happy. The food was my outlet. I was always bigger than all the other kids I went to school with and I was often bullied. I remember when I was in fourth grade, a girl asked me if I was pregnant. I was devastated. After graduating from high school, I gained more and more. I averaged about 200 pounds in my early 20s. My daughter was born in 2014 and I weighed 235 pounds. By the time my daughter was 2 years old, I was at my very highest weight of 245. It was at this point that I knew it was time to change.

In May 2016, we planned a trip on a cruise that required a pass. When I took my picture, I looked at it and could not believe what I saw. I looked so tall. I asked myself, "Who's the girl, is not it?" Then I bought a balance and saw that number staring at me: 245. It just seemed impossible that I let my weight get out of hand. My wedding was only five months away and it was at that moment that I decided I would lose £ 50 through my wedding.

After just a month of making these drastic changes to my diet, I lost 20 pounds and dropped to 225. I could not believe it. Every time I stepped on that scale and it was lower, I became much more motivated to keep going and not messing up.

My main motivation was my upcoming wedding in November. By October 1, I had reached my first goal, 50 pounds away! I lost 12 pounds before my wedding and I was able to walk down the hall at 183 pounds. It was a hard decision, but I decided to stop Keto after my wedding because my husband and I were on a honeymoon on an all-you-can-eat cruise. When we returned, I decided to try clean food so that I could enjoy our traditional holiday meal without worrying about falling out of the ketosis. I promised myself that I would go back to Keto from the 1st of January and that's exactly what I did! I came back to Ketose and lost another 40 pounds.

Now that I lost weight I feel great. I have more energy and confidence. I am so proud of myself, I never thought that such a thing was ever possible for me. I've been struggling with my self-image all my life, and for the first time ever, I'm happy with how I look. I even enjoy shopping!

I never thought about the amount of loose skin I would get, or the idea that I would lose fat in places I did not want, like my chest. As soon as I lost weight, I sometimes tried to get used to my new body. I was always curvy and "fat", but not so much now. It took a while, but I finally began to learn to love my new body. I was proud of it and worked hard to get it. I'm planning a tummy tuck and possibly a breast lift in the future, but now I'm satisfied.

I think it's a little trial and error to find the weight on which you look feels most comfortable. I'm about 10 pounds heavier than my lowest weight. That's the weight that makes me feel best until I can take time for surgery. I stopped eating keto after deciding not to lose weight anymore. I eat most of the time clean, lots of fruits and vegetables. If I have bread, it is 100% whole wheat bread. I'm still limiting my sugar and carbohydrate intake. I still do not train, but I work as a housekeeper, so I'm very active.

I'm currently in Weight Watchers and weighing, measuring and still watching all my food to keep up with portion control. This allowed me to be accountable for everything I eat.

My daughter has always been a great motivator for me. I want her to grow up and learn healthy eating habits so she can make good decisions. I never want her to go through the struggles I've been through.
