Kevin Smith Unveils Plans for "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" Deadline



With the power of Grayskull, Kevin Smith has taken a metaphorical power sword to bring a new animated series based on the He-Man. The director of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot surprised fans at the Power-Con in Anaheim on Sunday with the news of his new Netflix anime series Masters of the Universe: Revelation The original story is based on the world of Mattel's classic he-man toy from the 80s.

Smith will serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner of Masters of the Universe: Revelation a limited series focusing on the unresolved storylines of the classic series that recorded many of the characters' travels which they had stopped decades ago.

"I'm eternally grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for not only entrusting me with the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire universe," Smith said. "In Revelation we pick up where the classic era left off to tell an epic story about the possibly final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Bringing it to life with the most metallic character designs that Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you've always wanted to see as a kid! "

The series is produced by Mattel Television with Rob David, vice president of Mattel TV and author of He-Man: The Eternity War and acts as Executive Producer of the series. They have also assembled a team of impressive writers, including Eric Carrasco (19459003), Supergirl (19459004), Tim Sheridan (19459003), Diya Mishra (19459003) and Magic the Gathering (19459004)]) and Marc Bernardin ( Alphas ). The animation for the series is created by Powerhouse Animation ( Castlevania ).

Netflix also includes She-Ra and the Princesses of Power . In the original series of the 80s, the title princess is the sister of He-Man. Not a word yet about whether the two series will cross or not. She-Ra contributes Master of the Uinverse: Revelation to Netflix's growing list of anime content from around the world. This includes Castlevania, Devilman Crybaby, Aggretsuko and Ultraman .
