Culinary convenience has been the focus of ongoing grocery wars between traditional retailers such as Kroger and online competitors such as Blue Apron and Amazon.

On Wednesday, the Cincinnati-based food giant announced that he would be adding Chicago-based Food Kit Delivery Company, Home Chef, to his arsenal of products designed to bridge the gap between home-cooked meals and take-away.

Home store offerings at the store would complement Kroger Prep + Pared meal kits, which are already available in more than 525 Kroger stores.
