Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti posted a Twitter video on Saturday explaining why he and the city government will not work with Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in nationwide raids.
President Trump initially announced raids on illegal immigrants in June before withdrawing to give Congress more time for a bipartisan solution. He then gave the green light to the operation this weekend, and a high-ranking government official told Fox News that there had been a crackdown in New York City and several other locations.
Democrat Garcetti unlawfully provided LA lawyers with legal advice and informed them of what resources the city could benefit from, including, but not limited to, a lawyer. Garcetti also requested her to keep records of everything that happened between them and the federal prosecutor's offices, and recommended that He also proudly declared that his city would not help with ICE raids.
"Write down when and where you are interviewed whenever possible. Write down the name and number of an official whenever and wherever you are interviewed. "You can use this information for your own defense," he said.
"And most of all, I want you to know that you do not have to worry, your city is on your side, and rest assured, here in Los Angeles, we're not coordinating with ICE."
