OAKLAND, California (AP) – The Los Angeles Lakers lost LeBron James in the third quarter on a tense left groin. Then they went out and defeated the two-time defending champion without him. 17 points, 13 rebounds and five assists before the injury in a surprising 127-101 defeat of the Golden State Warriors.
James grabbed his left groin in 7:51 in third position after slipping under the Warriors' basket attempting a loose ball. He tried to expand it, clumsily went to the Lakers Bank and tried to loosen up, before he walked alone out of the tunnel to the locker room.
Stephen Curry made shortly after James's exit three consecutive 3s, and the Warriors came in 78-76 at the 2:48 mark of the Third ̵

Kevin Durant played on a delicate left ankle and had 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Andre Iguodala came off the bench and made his first five shots and 7/9 halftime on the way to a season high of 23 points, while also doing some of the burden James defended.
Golden State scored only 9 for 36 from the depths, Curry being 2 of 8 and Durant 3 for 8.  MCGEES RING DELAYED
