An off-duty Los Angeles police officer traveling with his girlfriend at a taco booth in Lincoln Heights was fatally shot early Saturday morning.

The officer was one of two people found by a LAPD motorcycle officer with gunshot wounds and stopped by a witness around 1 am on Avenue 26 and Humboldt Street.

The young policeman was off duty with his girlfriend and her two brothers eating at the taco booth when a group of young men approached and made threats.
