For example, suppose Starfield images surfaced online that might give us a first proper look at Bethesda’s much-anticipated space RPG.
Three images appeared on Imgur and were also shared on Reddit, allegedly from Starfield. The images show a ship, an element of the game UI, and a pretty compelling screenshot in the game. We don’t know how legitimate these images are. So take everything you see here with a large pinch of salt.
The screenshot image shows an astronaut-like figure looking up at a building that could be a kind of space station. In the lower right corner, you’ll see a health and stamina bar, as well as weapon and grenade icons, accompanied by numbers that presumably indicate ammo.
The picture of the ship also looks very detailed with different hatches and markings. We have no way of knowing how important this ship is when it actually came from Starfield, but maybe it is the ship you command or with which you explore it. The final image posted on Imgur is a close up of a UI element that can be seen in the lower left corner of the astronaut screenshot, showing what some sort of clock face or meter reading looks like. This can be a way to keep track of oxygen and other resources or aspects during space travel.
So far we haven’t seen anything from Starfield other than a very short teaser trailer released in 2018. The trailer only gives a brief glimpse, but many on Reddit have already compared the images to the trailer just to see how well it fits.
One reddit users with eagle eyes even noticed that the stain on the astronaut figure coincides with a faint image in space that appears in the trailer. Of course, this is all speculation and guesswork for now, but the pictures look pretty convincingly real.
In other news, Bethesda overhauls its engine for Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.
