LG has turned to the public for feedback on the now infamous score. As a recent forum post on this topic, Reddit was approached by a newly created LG support account, asking the general public what they think of nicks in general. Quote from LG's clever pun: " Love the Notch, or is Notch your thing? "
The Post has gone live recently and has already collected more than two hundred comments (and has risen quickly), So it is clear that this topic is in the public is happy to share their opinion. As you might expect from what has clearly become a divisive theme, there are some who basically oppose the use of a notch while others say that it's less about whether or not a notch is used. Which may be significant, there seem to be very few who say they like the score. Interestingly enough, LG seems to be responding to further comments indicating that they do not disturb the score, or that it would not be so bad if the score could be hidden. This could increase the chances that LG's emerging flagship has a notch first, and secondly, LG plans to offer an option to hide or blend the hack in some way.
What exactly the rumor mill on the LG G7 seems to suggest. While video footage has surfaced showing what the LG G7 should be with a notch, a new report also came out by highlighting the notch can be masked with the use of software. While this degree of interaction on the part of the LG support team does not confirm that this will be the case, it seems to add to the idea that LG is more focused on the possibility of an optionally visible notch. However, it is clear how using a notch for manufacturers in 2018 has quickly become a trend design feature. A number of smartphones have already been announced with a score, and it is expected that other high-profile options will also include a go forward. For example, OnePlus has confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone will boast a score.
