If you want the best deal for an OLED TV, you need to keep an eye on current prices. And as the summer starts seriously, the 201
This spring, I've gotand it's the best TV I've ever tested. But even demanding high-end TV shoppers should only buy it if they have much more money than patience. For it still costs significantly more than the 2017er versions, the and and the not much better.
CNET reviews: Best TVs from 2018 (Picture Quality)
LG has just released the 2018 B8 which is $ 200 cheaper than the C8. I have not checked it yet, but I expect it to be very similar to the others. It costs $ 600 more than the 2017 B7A at 55 inches and $ 500 more at 65 inches.
the "old" OLED is still the best OLED for more people.
Here you can find the current prices for Amazon and Best Buy for the 55 and 65 inch models in each series. I have also included prices from the beginning of May for the context.

If I take a closer look at the graphic, I notice a few things. One is that the 55-inch LG C7 at Amazon is $ 2,000 – more expensive than in early May. This shows me that the inventory on this model is finally scarce (although the 55-inch B7A is still available). In the meantime, Amazon has lowered its price to $ 2,500 on the 65-inch C7, which coincides for the first time with the B7A, perhaps in an effort to get rid of the rest of the inventory.
As for the fall in prices on the C8 from May 2018 since May, they are so far only 200 or 300 dollars. At this rate, the 65-inch C8 could fall below $ 3,000 later this summer, but I would not bet on it.
So it pays to get the 2018 model yet? Nope. For the past three years, all the OLED TVs I have tested offer a very similar picture quality. Yes, the latest ones are the best TVs ever, but last year's versions are a very close second. Here's how I summarized it in my review of the C8 of 2018.
As of April 2018, the LG C8 is the best TV I've ever tested, outperforming 2017's Sony and LG OLED TVs by a hair's breadth. And it's a thin hair: the main advantages of the C8 are very low, including a slightly better screen uniformity and ephemeral new video processing options. The models 2017 and 2018 all deserve a picture quality of "10".
If you need to buy a new OLED TV now and want the best deal, theor from 2017 are my favorites. But if you can afford to wait a few months, the LG C8 and B8 will fall in price.
Want the best deal? Wait until Black Friday 2018
When will these prices fall? If history is a clue, the best price on 2018 TVs will not come before November and later, when the big.
Here is a look at the price trend of the 65-inch C7 from camelcamelcamel.com, a website that tracks Amazon's pricing. At the moment, watching TV is more affordable than ever.
As usual, I will closely monitor the pricing of high-end televisions and adjust the rating of my reviews accordingly. Right now, the C8 is a bad value, with a score of 5, which is why the C7 is rated higher overall. If the 2017 models expire and the 2018 prices fall, the C8 is likely to be a better buy.
Even though the year is breaking through more than half the time, the price drop game for high-end TVs 2018 is just beginning. If you do not want to buy a new TV, it is best to wait.
