Lil Nas X and Cardi B were hit by a lawsuit alleging that their song "Rodeo" was a rip-off.
The record producer Brandon Lee says he wrote a song called "gwenXdonlee4-142" and it was included in a song called "Broad Day".
Following the release of "Broad Day," Lee Cardi B. and Lil Nas X have released "Rodeo" last June.
If you listen to the two songs, they sound similar.
Lee says in his lawsuit that both build on a 4-stroke phrase that describes the topic Cord Progression E, F, G, F, E. He also says the tempo is equal, both songs use guitar and Wind instruments, the drum beats are the same, the chord progression is similar … among others.
The lawsuit does not say how Cardi B or Lil Nas X had access to Lee's song, although Lee says in the lawsuit that "Broad Day" was widespread in the hip-hop scene, especially in Atlanta. 19659009] Lee also sues Sony Music Entertainment and Columbia Records.
