The 2019 Little League World Champions returned to Louisiana in style after accepting a last-minute invitation on Friday to fly with President Trump aboard the Air Force. Politico reported a 8-0 victory against them Curacao in August to get the baseball title. The team made a tour of the Capitol during a visit to Republican Representative Steve Scalise of Louisiana, who acts as a whip for the House minority champions.
The Louisiana players met with Trump at the White House and again at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Trump was on his way to Lake Charles, La., To stop the Republicans from winning a second term for Democratic governor John Bel Edwards.
During the visit Trump invited the team to board the aircraft. 19659003] "Today, the President welcomed the team to the Oval Office with North Carolina's Rowan Little League softball team," Deputy Press Secretary Steven Groves said in a statement. "During her visit to the Oval Office, the president invited the Louisiana team to fly with him to Louisiana tonight."
Scalise tweeted about the invitation, along with a photo of herself and the players.
