It has also been revealed that a man was arrested near Christchurch near a crashed white SUV.

At the time of the incident, hundreds of people were in the mosque, and one witness said he saw a man enter the mosque with an automatic rifle and fire for 10-15 minutes
The man allegedly wore a black one Helmet.

This is the second mosque in which unconfirmed reports of a second shootout have surfaced.

About one hour ago, a man was reported to have invaded the Masjid Al Noor mosque on Deans Ave and opened the fire.

14:35 pm: A message from an eyewitness to 1 NEWS says, "My husband drove by, saying he brought three people to the hospital, one was a little girl, the one everything had been shot.
"He wanted to take more, he said it was like a dozen people just lying on the street."
14:32: There are several reports on social media they have shot at a second mosque in Linwood
The police have not yet confirmed this.
14:31 The Linwood Ave school is now closed.
14:30: Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is informed of the development situation and will shortly be considering it.
02:20 pm: Local Witness Mohammed Nazir said 1 NEWS that he had seen three women who shot and blew on the ground outside the mosque
He asked the police for help and climbed to a wall.
He had to run frightened in his socks and leave his shoes behind to get them o safety.
14:18: Police call everyone in the center of Christchurch to stay inside and report suspicious behavior to the 111 immediately.
14:15: Armed police officers were deployed appropriately in the area without police reporting violations at this stage.
2:05 pm: Police are calling on people to "please avoid Deans Avenue" and say they will provide more information soon.
14:04: A witness told Stuff that she had heard 20 shots and saw three people lying on the ground near a mosque in Deans Ave.
