California Senator Kamala Harris will soon be confronted with questions from Iowa voters at the CNN City Hall event hosted by Jake Tapper, CNN's Jake Tapper, in Des Moines today. It starts at 22 o'clock. ET, 9 pm local time.
The Sheslow Auditorium is full of Iowans, although the outside temperatures dropped only 6 degrees. Viewers grabbed their cell phones and snapped photos in the auditorium less than an hour before the show.
Harris arrived in Iowa on Sunday night to Iowa.
The junior senator is likely to address key campaign topics, including tax breaks for the middle class and Medicare-for-All. She will also try to break with President Trump, whom she has sharply criticized.
She may also face difficult questions regarding her history of criminal justice. After Harris became Attorney General of California, many law enforcement attorneys in the state were disappointed that she no longer advocated proxy voting and laws to amend the California Three Punch Act, even though she strongly criticized the harsh criticism for punishment before she was chosen.
