Liverpool Vs. Leicester City – Football Match Report – January 30, 2019

Liverpool took advantage of Manchester City's defeat earlier this week, but not in the way they would have wanted it when they drew 1-1 with Leicester to take the lead to five points on the Expand the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool won the lead within two minutes before Leicester had barely touched the ball when Sadio Mane made a good pass into the box and landed low in the bottom corner.

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saved well after some incredible control Roberto Firmino saw the Brazilian make way for a shot. And Mane made a long shot when he should have been better off the resulting corner.

A poor pass from Alisson put Jordan Henderson at risk for right-backs, and he was lucky enough to miss a penalty for James Maddison. Though iterations showed it was out of the box anyway.

Liverpool controlled the ball and Xherdan Shaqiri almost broke through, but Alisson almost opened again.

The goalkeeper's release had nearly fallen, and Maddison had come out of the gate room 6-yard box after a nice cross by Marc Albrighton.

Andrew Robertson sprayed a magnificent pass to Mane just before half-time, but Harry Maguire pulled him back around the center line and only managed to escape with a booking. Because he was the last man.

And Maguire let Liverpool pay with the Equailer in the second half of the first half of injury time. With the free-kick unanswered, Ben Chilwell's ball was returned to the Liverpool area, and Maguire appeared behind the defense to steal home.

The Anfield team only released half of the snow during the break ̵

1; in the end, Liverpool attacked in the second half – but Leicester almost took the lead when a free-kick hit the back and Alisson the Miskick from Firmino had to distract from the goal.

Liverpool conceded a penalty Naby Keita crashed into the box and was ousted by Ricardo before he could shoot, but the referee did not whistle.

Demarai Gray had a golden chance, but drew directly against Alisson and not a square Maddison.

At the other end, Firmino's quick feet opened some space, but as in the first half, he fired on flatterer who rescued well.

Substitute Daniel Sturridge had the ball in hand as Liverpool had a chance and Hamza Choudhury stopped Mane after another shot with a wonderful slip-up.

Mane had a late header over the bar, but the game slipped off Liverpool and could extend his lead over City by one more point a missed opportunity.
