Lucas Torreira has revealed that Arsenal boss Unai Emery tells him before each game to attack.
The Uruguayan, who arrived from Sampdoria for £ 25m this summer, says he has the confidence of the Gunners manager and his teammates.
The midfielder has been highly impressed since joining and made himself a local hero after scoring Arsenal's 4-2 win against bitter rival Spurs on Sunday.
"I have the confidence of my teammates, and the coach tells me before each game he should try to get ahead," said Torreira.
"When we're on the field, we obviously want to score goals.
"In the last game I hit the post so close.
"On Sunday I was lucky and I'm so happy about it."
A man impressed by the midfielder is Gunners legend Ian Wright.
"He's the type we've been looking for in the past 4 or 5 years," said former Arsenal forward on Matchday 2.
"Everyone asked when we need to sign a defensive midfielder." and now we have this guy in Torreira.
"He was great today, absolutely brilliant, when you look at the way he plays, when you look at his touch, he's everywhere, he's everywhere on the court."
"It's the kind." and way in which he can of course go into positions where he can go into people. And when he has time, he has quality ball. "
