19:15 PM PT – The Sacramento Kings tell TMZ Sports, "We know the report and are collecting additional information, so we have no further comment at this point."
Head Coach of the Sacramento Kings L Uke Walton is being sued for sexual assault on a woman who claims to have been forced into his hotel room … according to a new lawsuit.
In legal documents received by TMZ Sports Kelli Tennant claims that before Walton became head coach of the Lakers, he asked her to meet him at his Santa Monica hotel for a book to discuss that she wrote. She says they had a business relationship several years ago, and she wanted him to write a foreword.
In the lawsuit, Tennant says when she arrived at Waltons Hotel, he convinced her to come to his room so they could discuss the book. She claims that when they came to his room, Walton suddenly pushed her to the bed and put his hips and legs over her body.
Tennant claims that Walton forced kisses on his neck, face, and chest. She claims she stopped him and tried to break free, but he held her tight, groping with her breasts and groin, rubbing his erection against her leg.
She says that he finally let up and let her get up from the bed But when she went to the door to leave her, he grabbed her from behind and pushed his body against hers again.
Tennant claims that when Walton finally released his grip, she opened the door and left, but moved on. He heard him say, "Nice to see you."
Tennant claims she initially did not report Walton's behavior but was forced to talk to him about her work. She says that every time she sees him, Walton would impose himself with a big hug or a kiss, though she believed that she made it clear that his progress was not desirable.
In the lawsuit, Tennant claims on one occasion, Walton greeted her by saying "vulgar, guttural tones to her" and said: "mmmm … you're killing me in this dress." She says he then forced her into an aggressive hug and rubbed his body against her body.
Based on the documentation, it is unclear what eventually led Tennant to raise her charges.
Luke has recently abandoned his position as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and is now training the Sacramento Kings.
We brought Luke and his wife out in Los Angeles this weekend, but he did not want to talk to our man … and it's unclear if he knew about the lawsuit.
We asked Walton's representative for a comment … so far not a word back.
