Maines first measles case confirmed



The CDC in Maine has confirmed a case of measles in the state. According to the CDC, the case was a school-age child in Somerset County. The child was vaccinated, had no serious complications and is completely cured. It is not known where the child was exposed to measles. The Maine CDC says those who may have been exposed should review their vaccination history and monitor for symptoms. Those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to receive the MMR vaccine. This is the first case of measles in Maine since 2017.
