KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Malaysian police say a Palestinian man was fatally shot dead by two assailants while driving a mosque for morning prayers. Palestinian websites have identified him as a relative of a high-ranking official in the Gaza division of the Islamic Jihad group.
The police say they are investigating all aspects, including terrorism.
Palestinian ambassador Anwar H. Al Agha is quoted by the Newspaper The Straits Times newspaper said the victim was Fadi MR Albatsh, a second Imam in the mosque. He is said to have been living in Malaysia for 10 years.
Agha says that Imam Fadi should have gone to a conference in Turkey on Saturday.
The police say he was targeted by the killed assassins for nearly 20 minutes.
