Policemen in Pittsburgh have arrested a man accused of strangling a former Playboy model near Philadelphia, the authorities said Wednesday.
Ex-Con Jonathan Wesley Harris, 30, was picked up after leaving the bus in Pittsburgh by model Christina Carlin-Kraft, after Montgomery County DA Kevin Steele.
"We were grateful that we could safely arrest the defendant who is being charged with their murder," Steele said.
"Jonathan Wesley Harris was taken into custody recently in Pittsburgh, he fled the area and he was on a bus to Pittsburgh and was taken to safety when he got off the bus."
Carlin -Kraft, 36, left her Ardmore, Pa., Home early in the morning. On August 22, she drove with Lyft to the Center City District of Philadelphia ̵
They returned at about three in the morning, where they were killed, the prosecutor said. 19659003] "Christina was beaten and the beating was considerable, her nose was broken, she had black eyes, there was a lot of blood," Steele said, according to WPVI. "Then she died of strangulation, something was put around her neck."
It was not immediately clear how Kraft knew her killer. Harris had just been released from prison on July 15, WPVI said.
"Whether it was a chance meeting or something else, I can not say," said Steele.
The investigators learned from Harris after they released surveillance videos of a man discovered near the model.
Steele said the police had received a "substantial hint" from the video release that led to Harris's ID.
"When we got that name, we were able to work some angles," said the prosecutor.
