ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Reuters) ̵
FBI special agent Jeff Pfeiffer made the revelation at a hearing to check for evidence from the locker and a separate search of Manafort's house, both in Washington, DC, a suburb of Alexandria, could be used in a trial for July become.
The Hearing Comes Three Days Judge TS Ellis rejected Manafort's request to directly dismiss the case in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The judge dismissed Manafort's argument that special prosecutor Robert Mueller had been illegally appointed and had no authority to prosecute him.
None of the charges against Manafort refer to the work he did in the 2016 election campaign. Mueller is investigating whether Trump's campaign with Moscow has worked to influence the election. Trump denies any agreement and has repeatedly called the probe a politically motivated witch hunt.
On Friday, Pfeiffer testified that Manafort's assistant Alex Trusko told him that he had transferred records from Manafort's apartment to the camp unit. Pfeiffer described Trusko as a person who "did various errands and also guided around Mr. Manafort."
Pfeiffer, who led the redeployment search, said the FBI had been told by reporters about its existence.
The judge adjourned the hearing without a decision, but asked lawyers to submit further applications next week, possibly with a request to relocate the procedure to another location.
Ellis's verdict on Tuesday was the second time that a federal judge has confirmed Müller's prosecution. Previously, Judge Amy Berman Jackson also refused for the district court of the District of Columbia to dismiss the case of Manafort before her.
These decisions mean that Manafort will be on trial in two cases, one before Ellis, which is scheduled to begin in July, the fall of Washington in September. Charges include money laundering conspiracy, banking and tax fraud, and lack of registration as a foreign agent for a pro-Russian Ukrainian party.
Manafort was imprisoned earlier this month after Mueller had brought new charges of alleged witness falsification against him under house arrest.
